What does the course involve?
The four steps of Driver CPC Training are as follows:
Step 1 – Theory Test
This theory test module is specific to LGV & PCV and is mandatory for anyone planning to drive a bus, coach or lorry for personal or professional reasons or otherwise. It consists of Multiple Choice Questions and a Hazard Perception test, both of which you will need to pass.
Step 2 – Case Study
For the case study test you will answer questions based on real-life situations that you might come across in your working life, testing your knowledge and how that knowledge would be put into practice.
Step 3 – Practical Driving Test
This part is a practical driving test with an examiner, designed to assess your driving ability including a reversing exercise, on-road assessment and independent driving assessment.
Step 4 – Vehicle Safety Demonstration
This final practical test asks drivers to demonstrate their ability and what they were taught on the course. Passing enables drivers to drive a lorry, bus or coach for professional reasons.
