There are four steps involved in Initial Driver CPC Training:

• Theory Test – Multiple Choice Test and Hazard Perception Test

This is mandatory for bus, couch or lorry drivers, both for personal and professional purposes.

• Case Study

This is designed to test your knowledge and see how it can be put into practice through 7 case studies based on real-life situations and scenarios.

• Driving Test – Reversing Exercise and On-road Assessment

Your driving ability is assessed in a test vehicle, with around one hour spent driving in different driving traffic conditions and on various road types.

• Demonstration

The Vehicle Safety Demonstration Test uses the test vehicle that you arrive in, which can be the actual vehicle used for the driving test although still has to be the same category of vehicle i.e LGV or PCV.

These steps incorporate all elements of the syllabus and meet the 35 hour minimum required for this qualification.
