Lorry Mounted Cranes are sometimes also referred to as HIAB’s. However HIAB is a manufacturer’s name in the same way vacuum cleaners are referred to as Hoovers.

The safe and effective use of any lorry loader is entirely dependent upon the knowledge and skills of the operator. It is the responsibility of the operator to fully understand the operating procedure to avoid placing themselves or others at risk.

Sigma can run both RTITB approved courses.

– Novice Course (2 Days)

Designed for drivers with little or no experience of operating lorry mounted cranes. Operators must demonstrate they have understood and are able to show by means of a practical and theory test.

Upon passing a certificate is awarded.

– Refresher Course (1 Day)

For drivers who possess any valid lorry mounted crane certificate.

Operators must demonstrate they still possess the necessary competence and safety skills. A test must be passed to be awarded a certificate.
